Finding New Purpose in Your Job

(Ephesians 6: 5 – 9) There are several purposes for having a job. It gives us money we need so we can care for ourselves and our family, helps provide us a sense of self-respect and accomplishment, is useful as an opportunity to point others to God as His character becomes evident in us. It is also a place where we can take initiative to speak to people about what He has done in our lives, and can become a platform for expressing God’s love for others through helping and caring for people in our work place. Making the job simply about making money or all about your career, would be selling short. Let God use you in your job for purposes greater than paying the bills and you’ll find a new joy in the job God has given to you. Ephesians 5: 8 – “Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do.”
