A Ministry to Those with Special Needs
In April of 2003, Sugar Creek began a new ministry focused on meeting the needs of children with special needs. “The Open Door” is a ministry with both children and parents in mind. With over 6,000 children registered in special needs programs through our local school districts, we know the challenges of many parents around us are more than they can bear alone. The Open Door is designed to come alongside parents and minister to them by helping to meet the extraordinary demands of raising a child who is differently abled.
We have fully-equipped special needs classrooms developed to provide an environment for learning and exploration. Loving volunteers are present each Sunday morning to meet the requirements for special needs care. The Open Door is always in need of additional volunteers.
